Pauillac, Chateau d'Armailhac, 5th Growth 1996: From the very good 1996 vintage, the Chateau d'Armailhac has a ripe, fleshy nose of cooked meats, red-berried fruit, leather and roasted herbs. The wine is medium-bodied, and a mature gamey palate. A little cigar box and firm tannin - good finish. Alc 12.5% Grapes: Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon.
